my life - I was born and raised in Nakhonsrithammarat, Thailand. I received my B.A. degree from Mahidol University in Bangkok and worked for several years with the U.S. Peace Corps. I have lived and thrown pottery in western North Carolina since 1998. my philosophy - My lifelong interest in East and Southeast Asian pottery has greatly influenced the aesthetic that I strive for in my work. Though formally trained as a potter in the U.S., it is my experience studying ancient ceramics of Southeast Asia that seems to determine the form of my pottery. I desire in my work to reconcile the wonderfully rich pottery traditions of Appalachia with the eastern aesthetic which is so dear to me. contact me - |
